Day 86: Back on track

Lots going on today. Our driveway was paved, the floor vent was finally moved and flooring crew started. All the vinyl floor was installed in 2 of the bathrooms and laundry room. Hardwood was going down on the first floor and concrete board for tile in master bath.

Stopped by early this morning before going to work. Looks like they finished the hardwood and had all the cement board in master bathroom done. With all the rain on thing I noticed was water leaking in around bottom of basement window.

Day 85: zzz.....

Stopped by at lunchtime and no one was working.  Only thing new was the items delivered in the garage: hot water tank, bathroom fixtures, and toilets.

Day 84: nothing new

Doesn't seem like much is happening. Floor vent still hasn't been moved and rest of cabinets haven't been installed. Looks like tile for master bathroom was delivered, but looking at the boxes the floor tile is wrong. I'm waiting for them to actually get something right.  Hopefully something happens tomorrow, things are getting stale.

Day 80: Stone and some adjustments

They started the stone on the outside of the house today and I believe finished, if not they don't have much left to do.

Inside there seems to be some issues with the cabinets near the refrigerator. Project manager is still on vacation so I don't have any answers as to what's going on. The floor vent still wasn't moved yet either.

Day 79: stone delivered

Nothing new today except stone was delivered. Guessing they will start tomorrow or Friday.

Day 78: More trim work

The rest of the doors were installed, as well as all the vanities. Railing was also put up. Seems the only thing left is the cabinet above fridge and the pantry cabinet next to it, in addition to those cabinets that had to be re-ordered. Not sure when flooring starts, but hopefully the floor vent gets moved before hand.

Day 77: Trim work and cabinets begin

Today the trim work started. All the doors and moulding on first floor were installed in addition to the kitchen cabinets and the fireplace surround and mantle. Up stairs the doors were in the locations, but not installed yet. Laundry cabinets were installed, but none of the bathroom vanities.

Day 75: Siding complete, primed and painted

Siding was completed today. Also, painters primed and painted the walls and stained the railings.

Day 74: Siding almost done

Outside the siding is almost done. They were working on the front and left side as the back and right side were finished.  They will probably finish it up tomorrow unless they worked late and got it done. I like how with the twilight shadow color it always seems to change with how the sun hits it.

Inside all the sanding was done yesterday and nothing was really happening today. Our PM made some notes for them not to install the incorrectly ordered cabinets and we are having them move the one floor vent.

Day 72: Ceilings textured

Today the drywall finishers got the ceilings textured and tomorrow they are going to be sanding.  On the outside it looks like the siding crew is prepping to start tomorrow.

My wife came with me today to check things out and one being that she is a kitchen/bath designer she wanted to check the cabinets in that were delivered and sitting in the garage.  She was looking at a few boxes and noticed the cabinets for our island which are supposed to be dark cherry java (paid extra for this since our other cabinets are white linen) were ordered in white linen.  She also noticed the corner cabinet, that we had them special order to have a glass door on was ordered in dark cherry java and not white linen.  She then found the packing list and confirmed they were wrong on there.  Needless to say an email has been sent about this, and hopefully it can be correct before our project manager goes on vacation next week, since cabinets are slated to be installed Wednesday.  We do not need any more delays.

Only took a few pictures, cause inside they are more or less the same.

Day 71: We have a pre-settlement walk-thru date

We finally got a pre-settlement walk thru date from our PM, October 28th. This is much later than we expected, but luckily still within our rate lock-in window. He said we should close a day or two after that.

As for the house, drywall finishers said they will do ceiling tomorrow and start sanding Thursday.

Day 70: Drywall finishing is getting there

Talking to one of the drywall finishers I believe he said they were on their final coat and tomorrow they would start the ceiling texture and then sanding later this week. I noticed they started doing the siding on the house across the street before ours and they haven't started drywall. Ran into our project manager and he said our siding came late today, as they were supposed to start ours, but they will start later this week. He expects painting to start early next week, followed by trim work, then flooring later in the week. He was going to work out the rest of our schedule so hopefully we will know when closing will be soon. In the mean time we are packing up to move out of our current house next week.

Only took one picture today, didn't want to get in the way.
